After conducting highly competitive national searches, the Writing Program hired three new lecturers, who began at DU in September 2013.
Allan Borst (PhD Illinois; BA Penn State) taught as an ACLS New Faculty Fellow and Visiting Assistant Professor at UCLA, after previously having won a teaching award at Illinois. His scholarly interests include cultural studies; the rhetoric of addiction, recovery, and self-help; and the rhetoric of academic research.
April Chapman-Ludwig (MA Illinois State; BA Illinois State) previously taught several years as an adjunct faculty member in the DU writing program, contributing to several research efforts during that time. Her research interests include feminist studies, Mary Shelley, and writing knowledge transfer.
Sarah Hart Micke (PhD Texas A&M; BA Southwestern) taught at Colorado State University after having been a lecturer at Texas A&M, where she won a teaching award. Her research focuses on intersections among lyric poetry, rhetoric, and ethics. She once worked as Correspondence Director for a Texas state senator.
