Genital Mutilation Education and Networking Project The purpose of the FGM Education and Networking Project is the dissemination on-line and offline of material related to female genital mutilation, otherwise known as female circumcision. The Project seeks to form an online clearinghouse and a community for researchers, activists, attorneys, and health care practitioners to obtain information and network with others involved in similar projects. research materials and information for students, activists, and scholars
interested in women's conditions and struggles around the world. The goals
of this website are: 1) to encourage a wide range of research into
feminist theory, and 2) to encourage dialogue between women (and men) from
different countries around the world. Feminist International Radio Endeavor FIRE is the first women's internet radio. It works to disseminate women's voices in all their diversity, so that they can be heard by men and women around the world, crossing barriers of nationality, culture, race, geography and language, and contributing to bridging the gender gap. FIRE's programs address diverse themes from a gendered perspective, including neo-liberal policies, women's human rights, the environment, racism, disabilities, militarism, sexualities, education, arts and culture. The unique thing about this site is the extensive archive of audio clips and interviews from women around the world on a variety of issues. Global Alliance Against Traffic in Women GAATW's aim is to ensure that the human rights of trafficked persons are respected and protected by authorities and agencies. Our strategy is to promote the involvement of grassroots women in all work against trafficking in persons to ensure that any work done addresses the real problems. We work to empower women rather than treat them as victims. GFW is a grantmaking foundation supporting women's human rights organizations around the world working to address critical issues such as gaining economic independence, increasing girls' access to education and stopping violence against women.
