ColoradoWoman.com

Colorado Woman News is the voice of the women's community in Colorado.

Bitch

Bitch seeks to be a fresh, revitalizing voice for feminism, one that welcomes complex arguments and refuses to ignore the contradictory and sometimes uncomfortable details that constitute the realities of women's lives.  We want to find those women out there who are articulating—with things like writing, film, art, music, and feminist t-shirt businesses—the experiences that Hollywood and Madison Avenue refuse to admit exist.

Blue Jean Online

Welcome to Blue Jean Online - the only web site written and produced by young women from around the world. It is a creative space for young women ages 14-22 to submit their writings, art work, photography, crafts and other works for online publication to a world wide audience.

Brillo

Brillo - a magazine dedicated to the inclusion of marginalized voices in emerging communications technologies.

This zine is kind of off-beat and irreverent.  It seems to have big problems with the feminine hygiene industry.  Interesting stuff.

BUST

BUST is the magazine of choice for today's sassy girls who know that Vogue is vapid, Glamour is garbage, and Cosmo is clueless. Fierce, funny, and too smart to be anything but feminist, BUST is ""the Voice of the New Girl Order""--and the only magazine for women with something to get off their chests.

Oh, you have to see this one.  In fact, you have to subscribe!

Feminista!

Feminista! is the online journal of feminist construction.  It covers art, literature, social commentary, philosophy, wit, humor and respect.

gender forum

gender forum is a new electronic journal dedicated to the discussion of women's and gender studies. It includes annotated bibliographic records of feminist theory, gender studies, feminist literary criticism and feminist literature from other fields such as education, sociology, history, and psychology.

This site has an extensive links page of women's academic journals from around the world.

Hip Mama

Hip Mama is a magazine bursting with political commentary and ribald tales from the front lines of motherhood.  Articles about legislative reform, raising a draft dodger, and guerrilla mothering rub shoulders with celebrity interviews, heartfelt reader essays, and evocative poetry.

Moondance

Moondance celebrates creative women--our vision, our wisdom, our strength.  We invite you to explore our e-magazine offering a range of art and writing genres including poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, essays, opinions and inspirational pieces.

Ms. Magazine

The magazine had succeeded in raising the national consciousness, putting a host of hot-button issues that were missed or silenced by the mainstream press onto the national agenda. Ms. is recognized nationally and internationally as the media resource and expert on issues relating to women's status, rights, and points of view.

Of course, this is the mother of all feminist magazines, and they just get better and better.  Ms. has great international coverage!

National Women's Studies Association Journal

NWSA Journal, an official publication of the National Women's Studies Association, publishes the most up-to-date interdisciplinary, multi-cultural feminist scholarship linking feminist theory with teaching and activism.  In addition to essays focusing on feminist scholarship and reviews of books, teaching materials and films, the journal regularly includes such features as "On Learning and Teaching," "Forum," "Report," and "Biographical Portraits."  It is published three times a year.

Nervy Girl!

Nervy Girl's mission is to celebrate and encourage women in their diversity, achievements, interests and ideas and provide a platform to address and discuss women's issues.

New Moon

New Moon Publishing produces media for every girl who wants her voice heard and her dreams taken seriously and for every adult who cares about girls.

New Moon is so great.  They really do it right.

Ovature

Ovature is a monthly magazine for women and men who can't sum up their lives by buying a couple of grocery store magazines. On the theory that real people care about more than one thing at a time, Ovature offers a little of everything to the feminist, quasi-feminist, or just plain open-minded reader.

Radiance Magazine

Radiance: The Magazine for Large Women's purpose is to support women "all sizes of large" in living proud, full, active lives, at whatever weight, with self-love and self-respect.

Said It

Said It is a pro-equality, pro-multiplicity, pro-abundance, pro-responsibility, pro-animal, pro-justice, pro-love, pro-laughter feminist publication.

This is by far the best mission statement we came across, don't you think?

Scribbling Women

Scribbling Women, a project of The Public Media Foundation, dramatizes stories by American women writers for national radio broadcast. This site provides classroom resources for teaching and learning the rich tradition of American literature by women.

Silicon Salley

Silicon Salley recognizes that we are all experts in our own field and that each of us brings to the table something that will expand and enlighten our scope of women in technology. The ongoing dialogue is our goal.

Teen Voices

Teen Voices honors the authentic voices of teenage and young adult women. Teen Voices challenges the mainstream media's image of girls by providing an intelligent alternative packed with original writing, poetry and artwork.

This is a great magazine run by terrific young women.  The cool thing is that they invite their readers to submit work for publication.  You could be next!

Venus Zine

Venus Zine focuses on women who make all kinds of music: indie, rock, punk, hip-hop, folk, country, emo, dance, and electronic. Although the focus is on music, Venus also covers women filmmakers, visual artists, writers, photographers, creative business owners, do-it-yourself superstars, and fashion designers.

Women and Performance:  A Journal of Feminist Theory

Women & Performance is a bi-annual publication featuring essays, scripts, interviews and articles on performance from interdisciplinary feminist perspectives. We encourage dialogue between varied fields of performance scholarship (ethnography, dance and theatre history & criticism, performance studies, cinema studies, cultural studies), and explore emerging feminist critiques of race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, technology and nation.

Women's Studies Quarterly

Thematic issues feature vital material for specialists and generalist alike, including the most recent scholarship available in jargon-free language; classroom aids such as course syllabi; discussion of strategies for teaching; and up-to-date, complete bibliographies as well as hard-to-find or never-before-published documents and literary materials. The intersections of race and class with gender are of special concern, as are international perspectives.

Women's Wire

Women's Wire works to put an end to child marriages around the world.
