A path for every Pioneer
For both our undergraduate and graduate students, we believe in education that combines rigorous class work with the spirit of exploration. With hundreds of options for majors and concentrations to help you find your niche, you'll be able to create an academic path that fits your interests and advances your goals.
Plus, we'll help you get out of the classroom and into the world. You'll find study abroad options that'll take you to universities in some of the world's largest cities. By providing valuable experience, our hands-on learning opportunities can enhance your degree and prepare you for life after school. Wherever your journey takes you, we'll help you every step of the way.
As an undergraduate, you can choose from over 100 degree programs and focus on what inspires you. Our programs are built for exploration, meaning you can complement your degree with courses across subjects—take engineering classes as a biology major or explore international business through the lens of world history. We'll help you customize your college learning experience to match your interests and build a foundation for a career you'll love.
We offer over 120 graduate programs across 10 schools and colleges, ranging from business, entrepreneurship and international politics to the natural and social sciences. Our programs combine critical thinking with collaborative and applied learning experiences, positioning you for success in your career.
Pioneers aren't afraid to explore. Over 70 percent of our students study abroad as undergraduates, taking classes and learning about new cultures in 55 countries around the world. Our Cherrington Global Scholars program will help you see the world, usually at no extra cost.
Education Beyond the Classroom
We believe in preparing our students to improve not just their own lives, but their world. At DU, you'll be given chances to work outside the classroom and use your education to help create and strengthen healthy communities.
Our Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning (CCESL) provides opportunities for community involvement outside your classroom. Learn about sustainability while helping jump-start local clean energy initiatives, or team up with classmates to tackle homelessness.
We also want to help start your career. With internships taken for college credit, you can gain valuable job experience before you even leave school. In Denver's thriving entrepreneurial market, there are plenty of opportunities to enhance your class work with real-world experience—all you need is the drive to make it happen.
During their time at DU, graduate students gain real-world on-the-job experience from professional services undertaken as part of class work, as well as from managing and hosting events on campus. Studying abroad also has expanded applications for graduate students, who can apply for funding and confront challenges like water availability and conservation.
