DU accepts the Common Application. The Common Application is a standardized application that's utilized by hundreds of institutions in the U.S. and abroad.

    Application Deadlines

DU has two important application deadlines: November 1 for Early Decision I and Early Action; and January 15 for Early Decision II and Regular Decision.

    • Early Action and Regular Decision are both non-binding applications; students who apply during Early Action or Regular Decision rounds of admission will have until May 1 to make their decision about attending DU.
      • Please note: The enrollment deposit deadline has been extended to June 1 for admitted first-year students starting in fall 2024.

    • Early Decision I and Early Decision II are binding applications and have earlier deposit deadlines.
      • Students admitted during Early Decision rounds of admission receive an additional $5,000 merit scholarship and top academic performers will have their full demonstrated financial need met.

        • Athletes receiving athletic aid as well as music majors are welcome to apply Early Decision but are not eligible for the financial incentives. International students are eligible for the additional merit aid but not for need-based aid.

      • Early Decision applicants enjoy stronger consideration for admission, and benefit from earlier admission and financial aid notifications.

      • You can only apply Early Decision to one school. If you're accepted to DU via Early Decision, you must withdraw your applications from other institutions.

      • You should only apply Early Decision if you're sure you want to be a DU student.

    Financial Aid

We know how complicated financial aid can be, so we have a single page that can help you locate the information you need.

You're automatically considered for merit scholarships once you complete your application for admission. These scholarships and grants are awarded based on your record of academic achievement and the strength of your application. We provide over $170 million in financial aid to undergraduates each year.

To be considered for need-based aid, submit your FAFSA and CSS Profile, check your application status, and apply for outside scholarships if you're interested.
