Get the lay of the land
Orientation is your first real introduction to life at DU. You'll learn about our campus, get started on your academic plan, meet your faculty advisor, move in and start meeting the friends you'll keep for your time here and beyond.
- Registering for orientationIf you're a first year student, you'll be automatically registered for orientation when you sign up for your First-Year Seminar. Transfer students will need to register through the Orientation website. If you haven't signed up for a seminar course yet, that's the best place to start on your preparations for college.
- When is orientation?
If you're starting in the fall quarter of 2017, Discoveries Orientation will take place on the following dates:
- Monday, Sept. 4 through Sunday, Sept. 10
- Orientation for international students
If you are a student arriving from outside the United States, you will still participate in Discoveries Orientation. However, you will also attend a separate orientation hosted by International Student and Scholar Services.
- Register your family for orientation
We realize that this is a time of transition, not just for students, but for families as well. We welcome your participation at our Parent and Family Orientation.
