Get the lay of the land

Orientation is your first real introduction to life at DU. You'll learn about our campus, get started on your academic plan, meet your faculty advisor, move in and start meeting the friends you'll keep for your time here and beyond.

  • Registering for orientation

Winter Quarter students need to register for orientation through the Orientation website.

If you're a Fall Quarter, first year student, you'll be automatically registered for orientation when you sign up for your First-Year Seminar. If you haven't signed up for a seminar course yet, that's the best place to start on your preparations for college. Transfer students will need to register through the Orientation website

  • When is orientation?

If you're starting in the winter quarter of 2018, there will be an on-campus orientation experience on Tuesday, Jan. 2nd from 12 - 4 p.m.

If you're starting in the fall quarter of 2018, there will be further information provided about orientation in the new year.

  • Orientation for international students

If you are a student arriving from outside the United States, you will still participate in Discoveries Orientation. However, you will also attend a separate orientation hosted by International Student and Scholar Services.

  • Register your family for orientation

We realize that this is a time of transition, not just for students, but for families as well. We welcome your participation at our Parent and Family Orientation.
