Every year, we welcome over 200 transfer students to our undergraduate ranks. If you've worked hard in college so far, if you've been involved at school and in the community, and you're open to new challenges and ideas, we hope you'll apply to join the Pioneers.

    Application Checklist

    To apply for admission, you must complete the Common App or Pioneer App, submit a $65 application fee, submit your academic transcripts and send along your test scores if you've completed less than a year of undergraduate study. You may also choose to provide an optional letter of recommendation.

    Application Deadlines

    We need to receive your application materials by each of the respective dates below for each quarter of study.

    • Fall Quarter: April 1 priority deadline, July 1 final deadline
    • Winter Quarter: Oct. 15
    • Spring Quarter: Feb. 1 (limited space; applications are considered on a case-by-case basis)
    • Summer Quarter: May 1

Pioneer Application

You can use our Pioneer Application, which is specialized for DU and allows you to submit your materials all at once.

Common Application

We also accept the Common App, so if you're applying to other schools, this might be the best option for you. We don't discriminate between application types, and you only need to submit one application.

Veterans

Veterans Services

We offer a range of services for applicants from military backgrounds. From understanding tuition and aid to career advancement and advising, our Office of Veterans Services is here to make sure you have the information you need during the application phase and beyond.

Merit Scholarships

67 percent of our undergraduate transfer students receive some kind of merit-based aid. We offer a range of scholarships for undergraduate students, from merit aid to grants and departmental awards.

Financial Aid

If you're applying for financial assistance as a transfer student, you'll need to submit a FAFSA and complete a CSS PROFILE. Check out our detailed financial aid instructions and contact us if you need assistance. We also award $130.4 million in financial assistance annually.

    We offer more than 100 degree programs, including dual-degree programs and a wide range of minors and concentrations. Our philosophy is based in interdisciplinary study and hands-on learning, with opportunities for experience in the community and the professional world.
