We have partnerships with many area arts organizations that provide hands on experience for our students through internships, volunteer opportunities, summer jobs, and special lectures and classes.  For example,

Denver Art Museum

  • DAM curators teach classes at DU
  • DU professors offer classes related to DAM exhibitions
  • Pre-art conservation majors intern with DAM conservation staff
  • Logan Lectures at the DAM invite DU students to attend
  • Hamilton Artists-in-Residence at DU are offered in partnership with DAM
  • Have partnered since the 1950s on graduate-level museum studies education

Clyfford Still  

  • CSM conservator teaches DU’s Introduction to Art Conservation class
  • Pre-art conservation majors intern at CSM

Kirkland Museum of Fine and Decorative Art

  • KM stores part of its collections at DU, making them available for student research
  • DU students curate exhibitions from collections
  • KM places student research in its permanent files

Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver
