IN RESPONSE TO THE TREE OF LIFE SYNAGOGUE SHOOTING IN PITTSBURGH ON OCTOBER 27, 2018, AND AS A PILOT PART OF DU'S NEW RELIGIOUS INCLUSIVITY INITIATIVE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH INTERFAITH YOUTH CORE (IFYC) AND THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES (AAC&U), WE ARE REACHING OUT TO OUR CO COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO SEE IF WE CAN HELP INCREASE RELIGIOUS LITERACY AND DIVERSITY OUTCOMES.

TOWARDS THAT END, WE ARE PILOTING A NEW RELIGIOUS LITERACY PROJECT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL PUBLIC LIBRARIES AND COMMUNITY CENTERS IN JANUARY 2019.

WE ALSO INVITE TEACHERS, LIBRARIANS, CHURCH GROUPS, COMMUNITY CENTER DIRECTORS, AND ANYONE ELSE TO CONNECT WITH US FOR HELP IN A RANGE OF AREAS.

Below is an initial menu of options, but we are open to talking with you about other possible areas for support:

Speakers at your venue
We can help you find expert speakers on a range of topics in religion and religious diversity and inclusion; in addition to our many DU experts, we also have connections with faculty experts around the Rocky Mountain Region.

DU campus visit with a class or by Skype
We can often arrange to host your group or class on our campus or we can set up a Skype learn-in for your class or group covering particular religions, religious diversity and inclusion, intersectional religious identities, and related topics.

Tabling: Books, Materials, Reading Lists
We can curate a collection of books, DVDs, and other materials for your library, school, or community org around various religious holidays, religious identities, and other religious themes, including expert-vetted reading lists for further study.

Art/Awareness/Diversity
This project equips workplaces, community centers, and educational organizations with a diversity-awareness-raising art installation that prompts people to ask what steps they can take to create a more inclusive workplace honoring people from all backgrounds.

Reading Groups
Let us help you organize community-student reading groups with expert-vetted reading recommendations around a range of religious themes towards greater religious literacy.

Curricular Modules & Teacher Training Resources
We can work with teachers to help curate and recommend curricular materials, teaching modules, and other teacher resources around a wide range of topics from the Holocaust to the arts of the Islamic world.

Bulletin Boards
Our team of graduate students and faculty are creating religious literacy "board in a bag" bulletin board resources around a range of holidays, religious identities, and religious inclusion topics; let us know if you are interested in learning more.
