DU Interfaith Challenge

Religious inclusivity: check an interfaith calendar before you schedule (and take the du interfaith challenge)

In the spirit of increased religious inclusivity on our campus, CJS has partnered with a number of departments and offices on campus to create the 'DU Interfaith Challenge', featuring step-by-step guides for transforming your everyday online calendar (in various Outlook and Google platforms) into an interfaith calendar so that you can more mindfully avoid scheduling your events and meetings on religious holidays. Our project also includes 7 Best Practices for how to use an interfaith calendar as part of your office workflow.

Step 1 of the 'Challenge' involves transforming your calendar. We are asking everyone to take step 1. We ask you to consider also taking steps 2 and 3 if you like free ice-cream and fun photo opps. Find the step-by-step guide and the full challenge details below.

Step-by-step guide to transforming your online work calendar (main step of the du interfaith challenge!)

Click on this file for a practical, realistic way to avoid scheduling your next event or meeting on a religious holiday. Taking 12 minutes to transform your calendar = taking a concrete step towards greater religious inclusivity at DU. [When you're done, email cjs@du.edu so we can add you to the list of 'DU Interfaith Calendar Checkers!' (see below)].

Before you go, check out our 7 Best Practices for making Interfaith part of your office workflow [and check out the full 'Challenge' (see below)]:

7 Best Practices: Making Interfaith Part of Office Workflow

Take the du interfaith challenge! (full details, incl. steps 2 and 3 for ice cream & fun)

Transforming your calendar (see above) is the first step to the challenge. Click on one or both of the files below for the full specs, including steps 2 and 3 of the challenge. We hope EVERYONE will take step 1 (transforming your calendar). Take step 2 if you like free ice cream. Go the full nine miles and take  step 3 if your office or group is adventurous and likes fun photo opps (and wants to help us get the word out).
