Ian Ferguson is a teacher and performer in the Colorado Springs area. He is one of the MainStage music director/accompanists at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and a regular performer as a jazz pianist/vocalist/trumpet player with various groups. He has released four albums as a singer songwriter and producer and can be heard regularly performing original compositions on guitar and piano with his wife, vocalist Beth Hembd. In addition to teaching Alexander Technique at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, Mr. Ferguson is currently lead music Mentor at the Colorado Springs Conservatory, and maintains a private Alexander Technique practice.

Mr. Ferguson received his BM in trumpet performance from the University of Northern Colorado where he studied with Dr. Robert Murray, Bill Pfund, Jim White and Dana Landry. He received his AmSAT certification to teach Alexander Technique from the Oregon Center for the Alexander Technique where he studied with Rebecca Robbins. He has continued his Alexander Technique studies with Dr. Heidi Brende Leathwood, Giora Pinkas and Lyn Charlsen Klein.
