Leah Weinberg specializes in 20th and 21st Century music in the United States. Prof. Weinberg holds a BA in music from Wesleyan University and a PhD in musicology from the University of Michigan. With active research interests in experimentalism and the performing arts in New York's downtown scene, as well as film and television music, she regularly presents papers nationally and internationally for the American Musicological Society, Society for American Music, Society for Minimalist Music, Music and the Moving Image, among others. Her work also appears in the second edition of the Grove Dictionary of American Music and in Einstein on the Beach: Opera beyond Drama (Routledge, 2018).
