Nathan Cornelius has worked in libraries for six years while also pursuing a multifaceted career in music performance, composition and teaching. An award-winning solo and chamber guitarist, he also maintains a private guitar studio in the Denver area. As a composer, Cornelius searches for the hidden beauty in sounds both familiar and unfamiliar and his compositions have been premiered by the Lamont Symphony Orchestra, the Playground Ensemble and Modern Hue. He is the co-founder of Nebula Ensemble, a group dedicated to creating and performing new chamber music throughout Colorado. He blogs about new music and his compositional philosophy at deformingprisms.wordpress.com. Cornelius is also a graduate teaching assistant at the Lamont School of Music, where he is currently pursuing a master of music degree in composition and guitar performance. When not absorbed in his musical ventures, he enjoys exploring the landscapes of the Rockies through nature photography and mountain climbing, as well as creating award-winning ceramics which he displays at etsy.com/shop/sfzceramics.
