In 2013, Michael Furry graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder where he received a masters in music theory. He also holds a bachelor of arts in guitar performance from the University of North Texas.

Michael regularly performs with his bluegrass trio, Hilltop Harvest Band, and is the 2018 Utah State Instrument flat-picking champion.

Michael has toured the U.S. as a guitar player for more than 15 years and has opened for some of the biggest names in the industry including: Grammy award-winning artist Snarky Puppy, EOTO, Greg Ginn, Rebirth Brass Band, The Motet, RAQ, Dumpstaphunk, Eric McFadden, Cornmeal and Spoonfed Tribe.

Michael grew up listening to, and was influenced by, a variety of artists including Doc Watson, Bryan Sutton, Bill Monroe, Tony Rice, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Phish and Umphrey's McGee.

Michael joined the Lamont staff in the summer of 2015.
