Mika Stoltzman, marimba

Mika Stoltzman, called "High-wire jazz marimbist... an amazing, energetic performer ready for major exposure." (LA Times) was born in Amakusa Island, Kumamoto, Japan, and now resides in Boston.

Mika released her album, Mitsue, in 1998, Marimba Phase, in 2003. In 2010 also released a live DVD, MARIMBA MADNESS (Big Round Records). Mikarimba (Video Art Music, Japan).In 2013 released If You Believe,in 2013(TeeGa music,Japan) with Steve Gadd.

Peter John Stoltzman, piano

In the summer of 2012, Peter John Stoltzman was hired to be the head of the piano program at the University of Colorado Denver, where he is also the co-founder and Co-Academic Director of the LYNX Music Industry Camp for 14-18 year-olds. Recent highlights include touring Japan and recording with drummer Steve Gadd, bassist Eddie Gomez and marimba virtuoso Mika Yoshida. His newest recording is a duo with award-winning Brazilian composer and guitarist, Gabriel Santiago. Peter has a diverse recording and performing portfolio, as a sideman and leader, including two releases on Blue Canoe Records - with the jazz quintet, The New Five (2009), and the Ron Westray/Thomas Heflin project (2010). Peter has independently released a 3-CD package of all original music (a finalist for the 2005 Independent Music Awards), a solo piano CD and a CD of piano and clarinet repertoire with his father, Richard Stoltzman. His first trio record, Walk the Path, was released in 2009 to rave reviews in Austin. Peter's trio released Live at Casa Karen on Bus Biscuit Records in 2013. In Denver, Peter has released recordings with the contemporary jazz quintet, The Democracy, and with his indie-jazz group, Coexistence Trio.
