Programs of Study

Whether you're interested in the arts, business, history or international relations, our language programs provide the tools you'll need to achieve your goals and aspirations.

The Department of Languages and Literatures offers the following undergraduate degree programs:

  • Majors in French and Francophone, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish
  • Minors in Chinese, French and Francophone, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian and Spanish

Additionally, the department offers beginning-level study in Arabic and Greek.

To add or change a major or minor you must fill out the major/minor change form and submit it to the Registrar's office. If you are adding a major, you will need to obtain the appropriate language advisor's signature, either by making an appointment with that advisor or by dropping the form off at the main office in Sturm 391.  Students will need to deliver their form to the Registrar's office once it is signed. Adding a language minor does not require an advisor's signature.
