Alfonzo Porter About: 

Alfonzo Porter is the Managing Partner of Vertex Learning, LLC, a full service educational publishing and consulting firm with an operational footprint in Washington, DC, Atlanta, GA, St. Louis, MO, Denver, CO, Dayton-Cincinnati, OH, and San Diego, CA. He is past President/CEO of PE&C, Inc., an award-winning Public Relations and Education Consultancy that provided a broad portfolio of services to school systems nationally. The firm was the recipient of numerous awards and honors including Small Business of the Year, Inc. 5000's Fastest Growing U.S. Companies, Who's Who in Business and MEA Magazine's Fastest Growing Minority Firms, among others. As a journalist, he has written for several publications including the "Washington Post" and "The Examiner." He has also worked as a public school teacher and administrator across multiple school systems. His undergraduate degree is in Journalism and Public Relations. He completed a graduate program in Educational Policy and Leadership with endorsements as a secondary principal and school system leader. He holds a graduate certificate in management and his doctoral program focused on the Administration of Teaching and Learning. His latest book is titled, Digital Citizenship: Promoting Wellness for Thriving in a Connected World (Vertex Learning, LLC--2018). It is a Social Media curriculum designed for secondary students (grades 6-12) and is aligned with the learning standards of the Society for Health and Physical Education (SHAPE). The textbook's primary purpose is to address the mental, emotional, social and psychological health and well-being of students as they navigate the unintended consequences of living in a digital reality.
