Elizabeth Tharakan

Elizabeth TharakanAbout: Elizabeth has been a lifelong subscriber to The New York Times, with a particular interest in the economics columns authored by Nicholas Kristof. Her longtime love of reading and writing led her to both the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and University of Missouri School of Journalism. Combining her dual interests, Elizabeth taught Media Law and Ethics to undergraduates at University of Colorado Boulder's College of Media, Communications and Information. She looks forward to sharing her passion for the subject with students at the University of Denver, by asking provocative questions using the Socratic method to keep students engaged and "on their toes."

In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys running 10k's such as the Bolder Boulder, watching Indian films such as The Namesake and Monsoon Wedding, taking photos with her cell phone and then posting them on Instagram (which she considers a form of photojournalism), and cooking spicy ethnic food purchased at Trader Joe's.
