Project DU F.I.L.M.

Project DU FILM (Film Initiative Linking to Mentors) is a Filming on the set of "Happy F-ing Valentine's Day"collaborative, experiential, mentorship filmmaking program bringing together faculty, professional alumni and students to create, promote and distribute films. We welcome all majors!

● By working alongside alumni mentors, students learn what it means to be a professional filmmaker.
● Recognizing industry-wide inequities, we place special emphasis on populating our cast and crews with people from traditionally underrepresented groups

Happy F-ing Valentine's Day

"Happy F-ing Valentine's Day" is the pilot film production of Project DU F.I.L.M. (Film Initiative Linking to Mentors). Professional filmmaking alumni led the project while mentoring select students from the DU Film Production and Studies major.

In this film, Valentine's Day provides the backdrop for a short comedy that asks the question, how can trying to do something so right turn out so f-ing wrong?

The script, written by DU professor, Dr. Sheila E. Schroeder, was inspired by true events that transpired on Valentine's Day, 2015 in Nederland, CO. Find out more at
