Clinical
Clinical Coursework
As a student in our clinical child program, you typically take two courses a quarter. Coursework emphasizes clinical science.
During the first two years, you take courses in:
- research design
- statistical analyses (3 quarters)
- systems of psychotherapy
- multicultural issues in mental health
- psychopathology
- intellectual assessment
- social/emotional assessment
You may also select advanced clinical electives and complete other department requirements.
Most coursework is completed by the end of the third year. Additionally, specialized groups often develop out of mutual interests. Recently, these have included groups on multicultural psychology, neuroscience, and stress, trauma, and coping.
