Participate in Research

The PROTECT Lab is currently recruiting pregnant individuals and fathers of the babies/second parents for a study on risk and resilience during the prenatal period. If you are interested in participating or learning more, please call or text Angela at 720-432-3105.

Who can participate? Anyone who is pregnant and the fathers/second parents. Both individuals must be at least 18 years old, speak English, and plan to have their baby at Denver Health.

Who is conducting the study? The University of Denver, Department of Psychology. The Principal Investigator is Dr. Angela Narayan, Ph.D., L.P.

How long will it take? Both parents will be interviewed, each for about two hours: Once during the 2nd or 3rd trimester of pregnancy, once 3-4 months after the baby is born, and once 12-14 months after the baby is born.

Is there compensation? Each parent will receive $50-$60 dollars in cash after each interview.

Where and when does the study take place? The study takes place at the University of Denver (Frontier Hall), and the time of the interviews are flexibly dependent on participants' schedules.

Will participants receive anything else? Parents will also receive any referrals for services they may need.
