Community Partnerships Work Begins

On January 1, 2018, the Barton Institute welcomed Dr. Lydia Prado as Director of Community Partnerships. As Director of Community Partnerships for the Barton Institute, Dr. Prado fosters innovative public-private-nonprofit-academic partnerships that address complex social issues (such as affordable housing, social determinants of health, and economic development) in collaboration with local communities. Read more here.

About the Barton Institute 

In 2016, the University of Denver (DU) and David Miller came together to establish at DU a new Institute for Philanthropy and Social Enterprise, the first of its kind in Colorado.

The Institute is interdisciplinary, bringing together resources from the university and the community to address major social issues. At the Barton Institute, we believe that such issues can only be addressed when the public, private, and nonprofit sectors come together.

To develop or enhance projects that demonstrably improve life for people in Colorado facing difficult challenges.
