We want to make your responsibility as a parent and/or caregiver a bit easier so that you can thrive academically as a student at the University of Denver. This section of the Child Care and Family Resources website is dedicated to the needs of students at the University of Denver who juggle numerous important priorities including parenting, studying, elder care, and other home- and family-related responsibilities. DU is committed to the success of all students and wants to ensure that all students have opportunities to fully benefit from the DU community. To achieve this, we have collected valuable information and resources designed to help balance the multiple and sometimes competing demands in the lives of students who care for others. We hope that you find this site useful and encourage you to contact us if you have any questions.
PARENTING AND ELDER CARE RESOURCES
If you are seeking early childhood education or child care, there are several options outlined on our Child Care Options page. The Fisher Early Learning Center provides an innovative and creative model of early childhood education. A partner with The College of Education at The University of Denver, Fisher serves families with children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. Qualistar Early Learning is the child care resource and referral network for the state of Colorado. The network consists of 15 agencies throughout the state that assist parents, child care providers, and their local communities.
We have collected an extensive list of fact sheets, articles, and books of interest to parents and elder caregivers. Topics include child care, parenting, educating children, elder care, family health care, and family matters in academia. All of our listings provide a brief summary of the content and a link that takes you to the resource directly.

We provide two online discussion groups for members of the University Community. The DU Parents group provides a discussion forum for students, faculty, and staff who care for children. The DU Elder Caregivers group allows members of the DU community to share resources and discuss topics about caring for adult family members.
