What I do
I am a professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology and currently serve as Research Director of the Colorado Women’s College. I am a social scientist. Over the last four decades I have been conducting research into the barriers and opportunities for women´s equity and advancement, the regulation of performance in business and sport, and global environmental regulations. I am an editor. Most recently, I was was senior editor of the socio-legal studies journal, Law & Policy. I try to find ways to put my research into practice.
I was a member of the Denver Women’s Commission from 2015-2019, and a member of Colorado Judicial Performance Commission in 2016 and 2018. I am actively involved with J Street, a and the Women Donor’s Network. I received my PhD in Urban Studies and Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, my MPA from New York University, and my BA from New College in Sarasota, Florida.
