RACIAL JUSTICE EVENTS AT DU

People of color and other minoritized communities have been greatly impacted by COVID-19, police violence, and many other forms of systemic inequities. In particular, the murder of George Floyd has served as a tipping point, bringing to light once again the historic and contemporary reality of anti-Black racism that is endemic to this nation. Here is a list of DU events taking place as we all work toward the liberatory work of racial justice.

  • Friday, July 24, 2020, 12:30-1:30 PM MT: During this unprecedented time, University College hopes to provide you with continued education, resources and connection. Please join us for a conversation on social justice and racial inequality, moderated by Ellen Winiarczyk, Ed.D., Academic Director for the Nonprofit Leadership Program. She will be joined by three current students and alumni to discuss their experiences: Brianna Johnson, Dr. Jason Wright, and Meghan Montelibano-Gorman. Register here.
  • Communities + Values "Beyond Taking a Knee: A Conversation with Tracie Keesee" June 25, 11am-12pm. See recording here.

  • Accelerate Webinar Series: Engaging Across Differences (Thurs 6/11, 11:30am-12:00pm). Join us for this 30-minute lunchtime webinar led by faculty expert Effley Brooks.
  • Friday, July 10, 2020, 12:00 PM MT: What does workplace diversity, equity and inclusion look like from a DE&I professional perspective? There's no quick fix. It's complex. Join us this for "The Complexity of Inclusion" hosted by CWC Board Member, Pam Jeffords, and guest speakers Candice McCrae, PwC Senior Manager, and Madeleine Winslow, Mercer D&I Consultant. To tune in, visit the Colorado Women's College Facebook page at noon MT and the video will play live within the page!
