Dear Colleagues:

In response to the DU IMPACT 2025 strategic plan's recommendation to develop teaching resources across campus related to Inclusive Pedagogy, and in alignment with the Faculty Senate Initiative on Inclusive Learning Environments, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in partnership with the Office of Teaching and Learning will host a series of programs during the academic year that will focus on creating inclusive learning environments.

This September, we will launch our fourth year of the Creating Inclusive Classrooms series, held on the third Thursday of the month from noon to 1:30 p.m. This series features presenters and panels from on and off campus who will share their experiences and best practices related to creating inclusive learning environments. More information on these and other opportunities will be forthcoming, or you can email ODEI to be placed on the distribution list for these events.

In the meantime, recognizing that the start of the academic year is here, we wanted to share with you some immediate resources that you might find helpful as you prepare to teach this quarter. In this current context, discussions and debates on real-time societal and political issues will indeed impact our teaching and learning environments. Accordingly, the Inclusive Classroom Resources offer a range of best practices and considerations for creating and navigating inclusive learning environments.

Please explore them as your time permits and don't hesitate to contact ODEI or OTL if you have any questions.
