English Language Center Vision, Values & Mission


The ELC will be a collaborative program committed to high-quality English language instruction, community engagement, and global citizenry.

The mission of the English Language Center (ELC) is to support the goals of the University of Denver by preparing English Language Learners with the necessary communicative and cultural competencies to be successful members of DU and other US institutions of Higher Education.


Accreditations and memberships

The English Language Center is a member of The Consortium of University and College Intensive English Programs (UCIEP) and The American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP).

The intensive English program (IEP) and the LAUNCH Curriculum of the English Language Center at the University of Denver are accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) for the period December 2015 through December 2025 and agrees to uphold the CEA Standards for English Language Programs and Institutions.
