Read about our partnership with the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences
The Peruvian University of Applied Sciences, or Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), is a private university in Lima, Peru. UPC currently offers 46 career programs categorized in 13 schools.
Starting in 2021, UPC will seek to enroll students in the ELC's custom, short-term programs. Programs will be related to students' field of study, including English for Business and Legal English, and designed to meet students' English language needs and goals.

Established in 1907, Tohoku University is a national university located in Sendai, Miyagi in the Tohoku Region of Japan. It was the third Imperial University in Japan and is one of the National Seven Universities. It is considered one of the most prestigious universities in Japan, and one of the top fifty universities in the world.
Tohoku students from participate in a 3-week, custom course designed to meet their English language needs and goals. In their program, students learn about US culture and practice their English language skills, observe classes on campus, and participate in activities throughout the Denver community. Students also collaborate with domestic, University of Denver students on a capstone project.

Soka University is a private university in Tokyo, Japan. In 2014, the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) designated Soka University as one of Japan's Top Global Universities. The university has 8 faculties with a total of around 8,000 students.
Students from Soka University typically spend six months to one year in the ELC's intensive English program as part of their study abroad experience. Access to on-campus activities and events are available. Students also receive credits from their home institution.
Soka University students also participate in a 3-week online custom program. In this program, students experience both synchronous (live) classes, as well as asynchronous, experiential learning activities. Students also collaborate with domestic, University of Denver students on a capstone project.

Nagoya University of Arts (NUA) is a private university located in Aichi, Japan, founded in 1970. NUA offers fields of study in music, performing arts, design, and human development, with a focus in child development.
Students from NUA participate in a 2-week, custom course designed for students majoring in art, design, education and music. In the program, students learn about U.S. culture and practice their English language skills, observe classes on campus, and participate in activities throughout the Denver community. Students also work collaboratively on a capstone project.

Since 2016, students from Nagoya University of Foreign Studies in Nagoya Japan have studied at the ELC. As part of a required study abroad experience and foreign language requirement, students spend six months to one year studying in the ELC's intensive English program.
Read about our partnership with Shibaura Institute of Technology Junior & Senior High School
In the fall of 2019, we hosted a group of 40 students from Shibaura Institute of Technology Junior & Senior High School located in Tokyo. Ranging from ages 14 to 17, they studied English with us for two weeks, participated in experiential activities, explored Denver and Colorado, and lived with homestay families. The students worked together on a capstone project which they showcased at the end of their program. Each student was presented with a certificate of participation and we look forward to hosting future Shibaura students.

Colorado Mountain College (CMC) is an accredited two-year and four-year institution with eleven college campuses serving 12,000 square miles in Western Colorado. Founded in 1965, CMC grants more than 120 bachelor's degrees, associate degrees, and certificates in a wide range of fields from Digital Media to Ski Area Operations. Approximately 20,000 students take on-campus or online classes every year, with a college-wide ratio of thirteen students to each teacher. CMC is ranked the highest among Colorado’s associate degree granting institutions for graduation and transfer rate, and was named the nation’s third-most-affordable Bachelor degree in a 2012 report from the U.S. Department of Education.
Colorado Mountain College will accept students' successful completion of the ELC's program (with a grade of 70% or higher) as proof of English proficiency in lieu of the TOEFL, IELTS, or Michigan Test of English language proficiency. International students interested in improving their English at the ELC and then applying to an undergraduate program at Colorado Mountain College can find more information here.

Founded in 1925, Colorado Mesa University (CMU) is a comprehensive public university providing an exceptional, affordable education on a state-of-the-art campus. Students can expect quality academic programs built on a strong liberal arts core at the baccalaureate, associate, and graduate levels. Located in the safe and welcoming community of Grand Junction, nestled on Colorado’s western slope among mountains and high desert canyons, students have access to some of the best recreation in the country. Outside of the classroom, students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of clubs and organizations, leadership opportunities, and campus-wide events, including 24 inter-collegiate varsity sports and CMU’s Outdoor Program, which offers more than 50 trips each year including hiking, rafting, camping, ice climbing, and sky diving.
