Coaching 1: Skills for Executives, Managers, and Educators

Looking to enhance your coaching skills and learn how to develop and promote the growth of others? Whether you are running a business, leading a team, or developing future professionals, coaching skills can help you inspire others for peak performance. In this workshop, you’ll learn coaching techniques to create buy-in, promote high engagement, facilitate difficult conversations, and support behavior change.

Through engaging activities, you’ll explore strategies for asking powerful questions, improving accountability, building deep rapport, and other critical skills to maximize your impact as a coach. In addition, you’ll learn how coaching can help you work effectively with different personality types and how to use these skills to manage resistance.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completing this course, you will be able to:
  • Use coaching skills to better connect with and inspire others
  • Ask powerful questions that promote reflection, action, and transformation
  • Utilize coaching to shift perspectives and drive accountability
  • Strategically work with different personalities to achieve results
  • Apply coaching strategies to manage resistance and objections

Certificate Information

This course is part of the Coaching Skills Non-Credit Certificate Program. Students who complete all four courses in this pathway will earn a non-credit certificate in coaching skills. Students must complete Coaching 1 before moving forward in the series. Learn more here.

Maureen Breeze
, founder and principal of Cultivage, has over 25 years of experience working in senior level management, creative industries, and talent development. She’s presented on the topics of leadership, coaching, emotional/social intelligence, and innovation and has also conducted personalized trainings. Maureen has trained faculty, staff, and administrators at higher education institutions across the U.S. and in China, and has facilitated leadership development programs for numerous manufacturing companies and non-profit organizations. She is a certified executive coach through the International Coaching Federation and is licensed to train teams using the ISEI’s Social and Emotional Intelligence Profile and Myers Briggs Type Indicator assessment. Maureen draws heavily from her work in business, education, and the arts to help individuals and organizations innovate, cultivate talent, and navigate pathways for success.
