Coaching 2: Strategies to Promote Emotional and Social Agility

Do you feel confident in your ability to promote the emotional and social agility of your employees? A leader’s ability to manage others’ emotions, handle difficult conversations, and foster resilience are just a few of the critical skills needed to ensure high performance in the workplace.

In this course, you’ll explore a framework for emotional and social intelligence, as well as learn the supporting research behind these concepts. Learn and leverage a conflict management assessment tool to introduce various strategies for dealing with conflict. Case studies will then be incorporated to explore methods for building trust, facilitating challenging interactions, and pausing versus reacting in emotionally charged situations. The course will conclude with an activity designed to help you promote broader social awareness in your organization.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completing this course, you will be able to:
  • Analyze the emotional and social intelligence framework and the supporting research behind it
  • Know when different conflict management styles are most effective
  • Facilitate challenging conversations
  • Foster a broader sense of social awareness in the workplace

Maureen Breeze

She’s presented on the topics of leadership, coaching, emotional/social intelligence, and innovation and has also conducted personalized trainings. Maureen has trained faculty, staff, and administrators at higher education institutions across the U.S. and in China, and has facilitated leadership development programs for numerous manufacturing companies and non-profit organizations. She is a certified executive coach through the International Coaching Federation and is licensed to train teams using the ISEI’s Social and Emotional Intelligence Profile and Myers Briggs Type Indicator assessment. Maureen draws heavily from her work in business, education, and the arts to help individuals and organizations innovate, cultivate talent, and navigate pathways for success.
