Compagnie Hervé Koubi

January 29

7:30pm - 8:30pm

Audience: Alumni,  Current Student,  Faculty,  Neighbor or Friend,  Staff

Compagnie Hervé Koubi consists of 14 male virtuoso street performers from Algeria, Morocco and the Mediterranean basin, whose highly physical, stunningly fluid performance was described as “a creation of poetic beauty” by The New York Times. The dancers combine capoeira, martial arts and contemporary dance with powerful imagery evocative of Middle Eastern and North African paintings and architecture, all accompanied by a riveting soundtrack that includes sounds and songs from such diverse artists as Kronos Quartet, Johann Sabastian Bach and Hamza El Din.
