Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • Name and describe five techniques for eliciting sensitive information about suicidal thoughts and behavior
  • Provide two questions that employ a narrative approach in understanding the suicidal person’s story
  • Identify essential categories of information to gather for an informed risk assessment
  • Estimate the suicidal person’s levels of acute and chronic risk for suicide
  • Collaboratively create a safety plan with the suicidal person
