KIHA presents Dr. Ann-Charlotte (Lotta) Granholm-Bentley, the founding Executive Director for the Knoebel Institute and a Research Professor in Biology. Dr. Granholm will provide an update on her research. She has more than 30 years of research and leadership experience, has published 160 peer-reviewed papers, and has had NIH funding since the early 1990s.

Dr. Granholm joined the University of Denver on Sept. 1, 2015 as the founding executive director of the Knoebel Institute for Healthy Aging. Granholm is also a research professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Denver. Prior to joining the University of Denver, Dr. Granholm served as the director of the Center on Aging at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Granholm also has a three-year appointment as a guest professor in neurosciences at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, where she conducts research. One of the largest and most prestigious medical universities in the world, Karolinska is the premier research institute in Sweden and the university that gives out the Nobel Prize in Medicine (official name: Nobel Prize in medicine or physiology).
