Keynote

From 3-4 pm, join us for a Keynote panel address by Judge Samorreyan Burney, Judge Pax Moultrie, and Magistrate Phelicia Kossie Butler. The Judges will be discussing their journeys to the bench through public interest careers that included prosecution, dependency and neglect, public defense, and city attorney work. This panel will also discuss issues related to diversity in the profession and public defense careers, lending their perspective as black female attorneys and judges. The conversation will be moderated by Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Director of Social Justice Initiatives, Alexi Freeman. Click here to submit a suggested question for the panel.

Career Fair

From 4-6 pm, join us for a virtual career fair. You will have the opportunity to join the virtual “table” of over 50 different public service employers! You can approach and leave the virtual tables of your choice, just as you would at an in person career fair. These employers want to chat with you about their jobs, offices, careers, and internship programs! This is a great, informal way to learn more about possible public service careers and internships. All class years are welcome to attend. Employers will be in attendance from many sectors including prosecution, defense, juvenile law, immigration, employment, housing, civil rights, government lawyering (state, federal, and local), environmental law, policy work, disability law, family law, civil legal services, JAG, and more!
