Law: Using Your Law Degree to Work Alongside Your Community

September 10

VIRTUAL LOCATION

Audience: Current Student

When: Thursday, September 10, from 12-1pm

A law degree opens the door to incredible opportunities to push for change in the communities that are important to you. But many of these opportunities are not presented in a traditional legal education. Join DU and CU National Lawyers Guild chapters for a panel discussion with attorneys who use lawyering skills like criminal defense and legislative drafting to empower community voices.

Speakers include:
- Zoë Williams (moderator): 3L student and organizer;
- Jes Jones: Law Office of Jessica Eve Jones, LLC and organizer for the Black Lives Matter Uprising;
- Elie Zwiebel: Elie Zwiebel Law, Colorado Juvenile Defense Center; and
- Jim Freeman: The Grassroots Action Support Network.
