Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • Describe current diagnostic practices for learning disabilities in DSM-5
  • Understand how current research-based models of LDs can be applied to clinical assessment
  • Identify common myths associated with learning disabilities and evidence that contradicts these misunderstandings
  • Recognize key features in the cognitive profile of children that may be indicative of a learning disability and common comorbidities
  • Gain skills to support families in advocating for a child with learning disabilities
