Stroke is a top cause of disability in the United States, often leaving people with limited mobility and loss of motor function. Physical therapy can successfully restore some motor function, but there is evidence that increased dosage could improve outcomes. Thus, portable, safe technologies to augment traditional physical therapy may be able to aid recovery. Join us for Emma Treadway's talk that will focus on the development and control of passive digital hydraulic exoskeletons to link joints, since routing fluid power through flexible tubes around the body is simple and provides a high power density transmission.
