Museum of Anthropology Exhibit Reception - Bound by Thread: Sister Fred's Quilt Art

January 31

4:00pm - 6:00pm

Sturm Hall, Room 102, Museum of Anthropology Gallery

Join Chancellor Chopp and Sister Fred for an Artist Talk at 4 pm where they will unveil a new DU quilt.

Dr. Frédérique Chevillot, or Sister Fred as many call her, is a self-taught quilt-maker. Piecing together used and worn out clothing, Sister Fred’s focus is on mindful creation and instilling new life into old fabrics. Each quilt expresses a feeling, a person, a story, and a time in life. When clothing worn by loved ones gets a second life as a quilt, the quilt becomes a sort of second skin. This exhibit showcases Sister Fred's work.

Refreshments will be provided. Free and open to the public. Please RSVP.

The exhibit will be open February 1 through April 26

The Gallery is typically open Monday-Friday, 9AM-4PM or by appointment. To confirm gallery hours or for persons needing special accommodations, please call 303-871-2687. Visit to learn more.
