This workshop will provide a brief overview of how U.S. structures and institutions produce unjust and inequitable outcomes that are grounded in colonialism and racism and how those outcomes are linked to COVID-19. Recent policy changes, organizing initiatives, and other changes that impact racial equity, both positively and negatively, will be discussed. Participants will work in small groups to apply racial justice frameworks from community organizing to their own social work practice and come away with concrete action plans for doing so.
