Why John Bolton's Plan to Topple the Iranian Regime Will Only Make it Stronger
12:00pm - 1:30pm
Sie Complex, Room 1020, Forum
John Bolton wants to start a U.S.-Iran war. His “maximum pressure” policy against Tehran seeks to topple the Islamic Republic of Iran and replace it with the MEK – an extremist Iranian cult, financed by the Saudis and supported by the Israel right (and their US allies).
Professor Nader Hashemi, Director of the Center for Middle East Studies, will argue that the net result of this policy will have the opposite effect. Rather than weakening the Iranian regime, it will be strengthened and emboldened.
Please join us for the final lecture of our series commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Iranian Revolution.
