Accessing DU Systems

This page guides you toward several University of Denver online resources and explains the "DU Login."  The GIS Lab Login page explains how to log into computers in the GIS Labs on campus.  This page explains how to log in to resources like email, PioneerWeb, MyWeb and Portfolio.

Understanding the DU Systems

There are several systems at the University of Denver to be aware of when taking classes. Those systems are all addressed here.  At some point in time you will probably login and access most of them for one reason or another.  These systems all require a login name and password. Your login name is your DU ID, or as it is also known, your student number or Banner ID.  You will also use a password or password.  A password will be assigned to you when you get a DU account. You will change it the first time you use it and you can change it periodically.  See instructions below.

How do I get a DU ID and password?

When you become part of the University of Denver as a student or as a faculty or staff member, you are given a DU ID and password.

If you are a student and don't know your DU ID or password, please contact the Office of the Registrar (303-871-2284).

How do I change my password?

You can reset your password by following the "forgot your password?" link on the PioneerWeb login page. You can also your password logging in to PioneerWeb, clicking on the My Account link under the Go menu in the top right and then clicking on the edit My Account link under the "Change Your Password and Security Question " section at any time. If you are unable to access these, please contact the IT Help Desk at 303-871-4100.

If you have problems changing your password, please contact the office that manages your DU ID and password. Students should contact the Office of the Registrar (303-871-2284). Faculty and staff (employees) should contact Human Resources (303-871-7420).

PioneerWeb (pioneerweb.du.edu) 

DU PioneerWeb has replaced webCentral for the DU community. While the new portal sports a new name and a mobile-friendly layout, PioneerWeb maintains the tabs, widgets, and single sign-on access to DU services previously offered by webCentral.

MyWeb

MyWeb requires your student ID number and password to access information. 

MyWeb provides a service for students to register for classes and check grades.

Faculty and university employees also use MyWeb to access vital personal information.

Portfolio

Portfolio requires your student number and password to access information. 

The University of Denver Portfolio Community (DUPC) is a fully developed web-based application that supports the academic community with a searchable database of electronic portfolios for students, faculty, staff, and alumni, community discussion, academic program assessment based on student work, and an assessment rubric library .

The assessment tools enable students, instructors and advisors to measure student learning, and to use the results to effectively improve the curriculum. The portfolios and discussion forums provide a mechanism for unprecedented levels of sharing and communication within the DU community as well as with the world beyond the campus.

The University of Denver Portfolio Community was created through a joint effort involving DU students, faculty members, and staff, and was funded in part by a generous grant from the Donald and Susan Sturm foundation. It is maintained by DU's Center for Teaching and Learning.
