Patti Marks
Senior Director of Development
Sturm College of Law

Patti joined University Advancement in August 2005 and moved to the Law School in 2007. She adds value here as a longstanding philanthropic planner, and also as a major gift and principal gift professional. She manages a portfolio of some of the University's top principal prospects and donors.

Prior to joining the University of Denver, Patti practiced law for 27 years. Five of those years were in Little Rock, and over 20 were in Denver in numerous capacities, including serving as in-house legal counsel to US Bank for 15 years (focused on board of directors, regulatory compliance, HR, real estate, and community relations), private law practice for 4 years focused of commercial real estate and business transactions as well as Family Office Management Consulting, and Executive Director and Legal Counsel of Colorado Lawyers for the Arts. In addition, at age 22 she was hired as Registrar of DU Law School.

Patti has lived in Denver for about 35 years, actively serving in leadership roles within the corporate, legal, public education and Jewish communities. Her connections in Denver continue to lead to the engagement or reengagement of significant DU prospects and donors.

A native of Arkansas, she received her BA in social science (political science and psychology) from the University of Northern Colorado and her JD from the University of Arkansas. She enjoys the fine arts, her grown daughters who have returned to Denver to pursue their professions, her two perfectly behaved lap dogs, community, learning, and her vocation which facilitates an avocation of engaging with interesting and generous people – in this case to benefit DU.
