New Employee Experience
Orientation will be virtual through June 30th 2022
Orientation lasts from 8:30am-12:00pm on the first and third Mondays of each month. New hires and managers are sent details and parking passes prior one week prior to the orientation date.
Hiring managers are encouraged to register their new employees for orientation as soon as the hiring process is completed by Recruiting. We also highly encourage aligning employees' hire dates with their orientation dates to ensure they receive timely information about required training, resources, and employee benefits.
To register for an employee an upcoming session, please login to PioneerWeb, click on the Employee tab, and then click on Employment Actions > Orientation/Onboarding.

Getting Started: New Employees
To help you prepare for your first day and beyond at DU, here is an overview of what to expect. Please keep in mind each unit on campus may have additional requirements and practices. Click here to view information to help you get settled on campus.
Thriving at DU: New Employee Orientation
These sessions are geared towards helping new employees get settled into their role, and for new and current employees to connect with others across campus and learn more about the DU culture and community.
This session is required for all new faculty and staff (non-benefited and benefited). New employees are provided with information they need to know in order to thrive in the DU community.
Topics include:
- Introduction to mission, vision and values
- DU's History
- People, programs and places on campus
- Inclusiveness at DU
- Completion of required new hire paperwork
- Overview of DU Policies
- Overview of Required Training
- Overview of PioneerWeb and IT Help Center Resources
- Information regarding DU ID card, parking passes and transportation options
- Benefit plan overview and Q&A
Employee Campus Tour
