Parent Tax Transcript
A copy of your parent's tax return transcript from the IRS is required and will be used to verify the accuracy of the information on your financial aid application.
A transcript must come directly from the IRS, and can be requested online by going to http://www.irs.gov and clicking on ""Get My Tax Record" and then "Get Transcript Online." Be sure to request a tax return transcript, not a tax account transcript.
Which tax transcript should I submit?
- If you are applying for aid for the 2022-23 academic year, we need the 2020 transcript.
- If you are applying for aid for the 2021-22 academic year, we need the 2019 transcript.
Alternatively, using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to update your FAFSA may eliminate the need to submit an IRS Tax Return Transcript. To use this tool—which will import your tax return data directly into your application—log into your FAFSA online at www.FAFSA.gov and click "Make FAFSA Corrections." For more detailed instructions, review the guide to using IRS data retrieval. Once your FAFSA has been corrected, please wait an additional 3-4 business days for processing; then feel free to contact us to see if a Tax Return Transcript is still required.
