Planning Support

SPSS Licenses

We approve the release of SPSS administrative licenses to support business operations at the University. Information Technology (IT) coordinates the distribution of education licenses to support faculty research.

For questions about SPSS licenses, please contact:

SPSS Statistics

Administrators, faculty, and staff may obtain an SPSS Statistics license to conduct statistical analysis and research in support of University operations. Common uses for SPSS Statistics include:

  • Running descriptive statistics
  • Performing inference tests
  • Developing statistical models

Note: Employees who are also students may not use an administrative license for personal research. Instead, we recommend they use a version installed in a University computer lab or purchase the SPSS Statistics GradPack.

SPSS Modeler

The University has a limited number of concurrent licenses for SPSS Modeler, which supports predictive modeling and text analytics. Modeler licenses are generally only released to faculty and staff with an advanced background in statistics, data science, or business intelligence.
