PioneerNet - Manual Configuration

Windows XP

Step 1 - Auto Configure PioneerNet through Windows

1. Open your wireless network settings and select "PioneerNet". Click "Connect".
NOTE: This will not establish a successful connection, but will allow Windows to auto-configure the network type. Further configuration is necessary in Step 2 below before a successful connection can be established.

2. Wait for Windows to detect the network type.


3. Windows will display an information bubble to inform you that more configuration is needed. Leave the "Wireless Network Connection" window open.

Step 2 - Manually Configure through Windows

1. Click "Change advanced settings" in the left sidebar of the Wireless Network Connection window.

2. Navigate to the "Wireless Networks" tab in the "Wireless Network Connection Properties" window.
3. Select "PioneerNet" and choose "Properties".

4. Navigate to the "Authentication" tab in "PioneerNet Properties".
5. Select "Protected EAP (PEAP)" from the EAP type dropdown menu, and then click "Properties".


6. In the "Protected EAP Properties" window, select "Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)" from the "Select Authentication Method:" menu, and then click "Configure".


7. Uncheck "Automatically use my Windows logon name and password" from the "EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties window".

8. Click "OK" on all open Wireless Properties windows.
9. Click the information bubble in the taskbar to input other credentials for the connection.

10. Enter your DU ID for the User name field, and your DU password for the Password field. Leave the "Logon domain" field blank. Click "OK".

11. Click the information bubble in the taskbar to accept the server certificate and process your logon information.

12. Click "OK" on the "Validate Server Certificate" window.

13. You are now successfully connected to PioneerNet.
