What do I need to bring with me to the Media Center?
You should always bring an external hard drive with you in order to save your project. Your hard drive should be of sufficient size. We recommend at least 500GB of free space to accommodate your entire project.
What type of computers are available?
The Digital Media Center has 14 - 27" LED iMac Computers. 6 of the computers are located at central finishing stations that allow for collaborations, audio mixing, and detailed final editing. 8 of the stations are located on the periphery, which allow for all basic, intermediate, and advance editing techniques, file rendering, and exporting.
What type of software is available?
The Digital Media Center computers feature Final Cut Pro X. This Apple-based software is a professional level, post-production video editing tool. The computers also feature the entire Adobe Creative Cloud collection including, but not limited to, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, and InDesign. We also feature Blender for 3D modeling and a wide variety of other software as detailed above.
Can I rent equipment?
Yes, we offer a variety of video and audio recording devices and peripherals for checkout to members of the University of Denver community. You can find more information about our equipment checkouts and submit requests above.
Can I reserve a specific computer or station?
Unfortunately, no. Computers are only available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you save all your work to your own hard drive, you should not need to always work at the same station.
