Dr. Granholm kept the audience engaged with her lively presentation that ranged from how to stay healthy to how to study aging and moved to how dementia is an umbrella term for changes that happen in the brain with aging. She updated the audience on her studies on Alzheimer's disease and Down syndrome, as well as the Concussion study with DU athletes. KIHA brings together key strengths from around campus to meet the growing needs of an aging population here in Denver and throughout the nation. Designed to address complex problems in depth, the Institute builds on DU's dedication to the public good by supporting research and scholarship on aging in a variety of disciplines. Lab scientists, social workers, psychologists, lawyers, education specialists, business faculty members and others are routinely involved.
