On Wednesday, February 27, KIHA hosted more than 80 attendees for Dr. Ann-Charlotte (Lotta) Granholm-Bentley's update on her research on healthy aging and dementia. KIHA PRESENTS CHALK TALKS

The Knoebel Institute for Healthy Aging will present monthly Chalk Talks for faculty and students interested in aging. These talks are specifically about current and future work related to aging and are meant to help foster new collaborations between faculty. Our goal is for the faculty to participate both in giving the talks as well as being an active and helpful audience. Faculty can feel free to invite students who are interested in aging. On Tuesday, April 2, Drs. Robin Tinghitella and Shannon Murphy (Biology) will present the research carried out with funding from a KIHA pilot grant. The title of the Chalk Talk is: Effects of maternal and grandmaternal aging on offspring health and longevity. Learn more here.

kiha offers tai chi fridays @ noon

Join KIHA Fridays at noon for a class of Tai Chi Chuan, a gentle relaxing mind-body exercise that promotes health and longevity to millions around the world. The instructor is Jean Gan, who teaches in communities throughout Metro Denver. Jean is a physical therapist who has taught Tai Chi for the past seven years. She is certified to teach by the Tai Chi for Health Institute and teaches Yang and Sun styles of Tai Chi. She has experience working with all ages, with an extensive background in geriatrics. Jean is convinced that tai chi is a huge benefit to healthy aging! Classes are held in the Engineering and Computer Science 5th Floor Event Space unless noted on the calendar below. Everyone is welcome, regardless of age or previous knowledge in Tai Chi. View the story in the DU newsroom here.

KIHA CAPTURES HISTORY from Manhattan project member

On Monday, January 28, 2019, KIHA filmed Dr. H. William Koch sharing his work on the Manhattan Project. KIHA hosted Dr. Koch the evening of December 7, 2018 to a packed event space. He enthralled the audience with his lecture, so we brought him back to present again and recorded his talk. Here is the link to his talk.
