  • On May 30th, 2017, KIHA hosted a seminar regarding the Athlete Concussion study that has been going on at DU since last summer. The initial speakers were Julie Campbell (Associate Athletic Director) and Jamie Franks (Head Coach Men's Soccer), and continued to include investigators from engineering, Graduate School of Professional Psychology, and KIHA. The seminar was well attended by athletes and coaches, students, investigators and community members. The seminar, which ended with a wine and cheese reception the KIHA event space, was funded by the Yale Family Endowed Lectureship. View the news story about our Concussion Research Seminar, held on May 30th, 2017, here!
  • KIHA's executive director, Dr. Lotta Granholm-Bentley, is conducting an interdisciplinary study on concussions. Athletes from DU are helping serve as test subjects. The Colorado Neurological Institute (CNI) will help follow concussed athletes later in life. And the project includes Bradley Davidson, an associate professor of mechanical engineering and director of DU's Human Dynamics Lab. Read more about the concussion study here.
